The kit

Toolkit

The full WhizArts kit: open reading and comments, posts made for showing process, a profile that doubles as a blog, topics, RSS feeds and work that stays yours.

Picture WhizArts as a shared workshop with the doors propped wide open. Writers get the full kit from their very first post; readers wander in, poke around and join the conversation without filling in a single form. Here is everything, drawer by drawer.

01Open doors

Walk in, no badge required

This drawer is all for readers, and nothing in it asks who you are.

Say something, sign nothing

Leave a comment with a name and your words. That is the whole form: no sign-up, no email field, no password to forget.

A human at the door

Guest comments queue up until a moderator gives them the green light. Any that never get one are swept out after 30 days.

Zero trackers in the room

We run no analytics, no ads, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts, and readers are never handed a cookie.

Pages that snap open

Everything is plain HTML and CSS rendered on the server: quick on a weak connection, easy on a phone, nothing to install.

02The canvas

Posts built to show the making

The process is the good bit. Posts here have room for every messy, glorious step.

A cover that sets the scene

Open each post with an image: the finished piece, the half-built one, or a bench buried in offcuts.

Pictures between paragraphs

Slot images into the text wherever a stage needs showing. They live on WhizArts, right beside your writing.

A map for long reads

Longer posts draw their own table of contents, so readers can leap straight to the step they came for.

Diacritics, perfectly placed

Write in Vietnamese or any accented language. ạ, ầ, ờ, đ and friends appear exactly as you typed them.

03Your corner

One address, a whole body of work

Each writer gets a blog at /your-handle/ that grows from the first wobbly experiment to the finished long read.

Portrait, bio, website

Put a face and a few lines on your page, then add a link so curious readers can follow you to your own site.

Categories with your labels

Sort posts onto shelves you invent: tutorials, recipes, field notes, glorious failures. Every shelf gets a page of its own.

A “start here” pin

Pin a short, hand-picked welcome to the top of your profile that steers newcomers to your best work and the links that matter.

04Reach

Ideas that travel

Readers can arrive through a person or through a subject, then keep up in whatever app they already love.

Shared topic pages

Tag a post with a topic and it joins a page that gathers that subject from every writer who used the same tag.

Feeds in two sizes

Each writer has a feed at /handle/feed.xml, and the whole site has one at /feed.xml. Any feed reader will do.

Plain, honest links

Point readers at your portfolio, your own website or your sources. Links inside posts are ordinary links.

05The keys

Your work, your call

Publishing here lends us a wall. It never hands over the painting.

Ownership never moves

Whatever you publish stays yours. WhizArts only asks permission to host it, display it and send it out through feeds.

Take it down whenever

Want one post gone, or the whole blog? Ask on the contact page and we will pull it.

Invitations open the studio

Nobody can sign themselves up to write. Holding an invitation? Sign in from the home page. Hoping for one? Show us what you make on the contact page.

✦Invitation only
