Reading
Do I need an account to read?
No. Every post, profile and topic page is free to read and open to everyone. There is nothing to sign up for.
How do I keep up with a writer I like?
Use RSS. Every writer has a feed at /their-handle/feed.xml, and the whole of WhizArts has one at /feed.xml. Paste either address into any feed reader and new posts arrive on their own.
What is the difference between a category and a topic?
A category belongs to one writer: it is a shelf on their blog, like “Recipes” or “Field notes”. A topic is shared across the whole site, so a topic page gathers posts on one subject from every writer who tagged it.
Why are so many posts in Vietnamese?
Writers here publish in the language they think in, and for many of them that is Vietnamese. The interface is in English; the posts are in whatever language their author chose. Accents and diacritics display properly in both.
Comments
How do I leave a comment?
Scroll to the bottom of any post, type your name and your comment, and send it. You don’t need an account or an email address.
I sent a comment. Why can’t I see it?
Guest comments are held for review and only appear after a moderator approves them. That is how we keep spam and nastiness out. Give it a little time.
What happens to comments that are not approved?
They stay hidden, and any comment still waiting after 30 days is deleted automatically.
Can I change or remove a comment I wrote?
Because comments don’t use accounts, you can’t edit them yourself. Send us a message through the contact page with a link to the post and the name you used, and we will take care of it.
Writing on WhizArts
How do I start writing here?
Writer accounts are by invitation only, and there is no public sign-up. If you would like to write on WhizArts, use the contact page, choose “Writing here” and tell us a bit about what you make.
Who owns what I publish?
You do. Writers keep ownership of their work and give WhizArts permission to host it, display it and share it through RSS. The terms spell this out.
Can I link to my own website?
Yes. Your profile has room for a website link, and links inside posts are ordinary links, so you can point to your own site and to your sources.
How do I take down a post or my whole blog?
Ask us through the contact page and say which posts, or the whole blog, you want removed.
Safety and privacy
How do I report a post or a comment?
Open the contact page, pick “Report a post or comment”, and paste the link. Tell us briefly what is wrong; moderators review every report against the community guidelines.
Do you track me with cookies or analytics?
No. Readers get no cookies, and WhizArts runs no analytics, ads or tracking pixels. The privacy policy explains the little we do collect and why.
